As the executive chef of Wildflower Café since 2006, owner Brian Helm prepares delicious cuisine daily, including signature Wildflower dishes, but pushes the envelope by adding an international twist to traditional foods.
A graduate of Rhode Island’s prestigious Johnson & Wales University, Brian has served as executive chef in several Florida restaurants. Not only have his culinary talents been acknowledged by critics, but he’s won numerous awards for his creativity.
Brian’s experience and passion drive his innovation in the kitchen. He keeps guests excited about Wildflower Café by using fresh, local ingredients differently than you’ve seen them used before.
Knowing that his dining room is filled with both locals and visitors, Brian maintains a dual focus on the food served as well as the orchestration of the kitchen and dining room. He believes that strong teamwork, not unlike that of his beloved hometown team the Pittsburgh Steelers, is essential to a restaurant’s success.
Dae Lynn Helm, Brian’s wife and business partner, keeps the restaurant running behind the scenes. She manages marketing, advertising and human resources for the restaurant as well as joining Brian in the dining room on weekends. Dae Lynn loves engaging with Wildflower Café customers, hearing their stories and discovering mutual acquaintances.
Like Brian, Dae Lynn also hails from Pittsburgh where she earned a degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. For more than 20 years, she has shared her skills with non-profit and government organizations.
